about
Responding to The Sword, Sustainer is meant to go further on using power to express particular feeling. This time this is anger towards God. It has been very unusual to dare using this tone and attitude towards God. As a bhakti singer I have managed to cultivate rather a sweeter way of expressing faith. 2023 created something different. I can be deeply shocked by the current of violence in our world, and as many of us, I couldn’t just think that it was going to be all right. I needed to tell God that I disagreed with the entire creation and the way it was going on. Sustainer began with the mantra “Har Har Har Har Gobinday”. The drummer Stacie Flesher from Utah was at home for a few days and I rushed to my studio to produce four songs she could play on. In this energy of emergency I was able to record The Sword, Remember Me, Always in Peace and Sustainer. The latter ended up with an uneven structure and I almost dropped that song. Eventually, I kept the uneven bars, I pitched the tempo, tuned it up, and translated the mantra Har Har Har Har Gobinday into an English song. It sounded so special and exciting that I had to simplify, using only samples and a keyboard bass to finish this groovy track. Later on two other musicians sent files, Ash Manning from Australia (guitar) and Ronan Hilaireau from Le Mans (Keyboards) and it was just ready to be mixed.
lyrics
Where is the Sustainer who maintains this world in good shape?
Tell me Liberator will you set us free from the bonds
Where is the Generous whose every moment is a gift?
Where is the Infinite? I haven’t see you for a while
I see the Destroyer annihilating all the worlds
How come you let us down when we just learned to chant your Name?
You’re said to be Nameless I don’t even know who you are
I’m losing taste for worldly life guess what I’m getting mad at you
Har Har Wahe Guru, Har Har Wahe Guru, Har Har Wahe Guru, Har Har Wahe Guru,
I’ve known a Sustainer who maintained this world in good shape
Former Liberator who used to free us from the bonds
I knew the Generous whose very Presence was a gift
I knew the Infinite, replaced now by limitations
I see the Destroyer annihilating all the worlds
The Creator has gone, leaving its creation broken
I have no word I have no name I don’t even know who you are
I’m losing taste for worldly life guess what I’m getting mad at you
